Descriptif
Triheptanoin is a lightweight, clear oil made from glycerin and heptanoic acid, a seven-carbon fatty acid. In skincare, it’s valued as a fast-spreading emollient with a very low viscosity, which means it glides easily over skin and helps formulas feel silky rather than greasy. It can also act as a solvent and texture helper, improving the overall slip and elegance of creams, lotions, serums, and makeup.
For skin, triheptanoin mainly helps soften and smooth the surface while supporting a more comfortable, less dry feel.
