Descrizione
Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is a cleansing ingredient used in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, and especially solid products like bath bombs and syndet bars. It’s made from fatty alcohols and sulfoacetic acid, and is often described as naturally derived and readily biodegradable. Its main job is to help water lift away oil, dirt, and product buildup while creating a dense, creamy foam that feels more luxurious than many basic cleansers.
For skin and hair, it can give a thorough cleanse without the very squeaky, stripped feeling that stronger surfactants sometimes leave behind. That makes it a popular choice for people who like rich lather but want a gentler-feeling wash, including those with normal to dry skin or hair that gets weighed down by residue. It also works well in formulas where a silky slip and plush foam are part of the experience.
Caveat: “Milder” does not mean irritation-free. Very sensitive skin, compromised skin barriers, or frequent use of any cleanser can still lead to dryness or discomfort, especially in high-foaming formulas or when paired with other strong surfactants. As with any cleansing ingredient, the overall formula matters more than the ingredient alone.
