Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate is a plant-derived emulsifier made by combining stearic acid with lactic acid and then neutralizing it with sodium. In skincare and haircare, its main job is to help oil and water mix smoothly, which keeps creams, lotions, conditioners, and cleansers stable and pleasant to use. It also acts as a texture enhancer, giving formulas a richer, creamier feel and helping them spread more evenly.
